I woke up this morning to the most beautiful weather of the year! A crisp 70-75 degrees, scattered clouds and a cool breeze… I can’t wait to go down to the ocean.
Unfortunately, I will not be able to stay in Daytona for the whole year. So I’ve decided to rent my place. It is a BEAUTIFUL 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom condo in Daytona Beach Shores. It is on the top floor (7th) with a private balcony overlooking the ocean. Beach access is directly across the street; 100 steps to sand.

Alright, we’ve got you thinking about Spring Break and going to the beach. Let’s talk about HOW to find a place to stay.
I’ve used Craigslist AND gone through vacation rental websites (VRWs) and both have their advantages and disadvantages.
VRW Advantages - Credibility. The owner, whether family or realty owned, has paid the fees and gone through the processes that provide a sense of security to the renter.
VRW Disadvantages - Price. The renter pays a premium for this sense of security! There are SO MANY sites out there, so in order to ensure maximum occupancy, the owner has probably paid to be on a number of listing sites. This expense is simply passed on to the renter…
Craigslist Advantages - Cheap and Personal. Craigslist’s vacation rental postings are made up of both amateur owners, and rental agencies looking to increase exposure. Your best bet is to find the bargain rental from an owner who personally uses the property. They are local and willing to sacrifice top dollar pricing for quality renters, but do not plan on renting their place full-time. You can find some amazing last minute deals on Craigslist, believe me!
Craigslist Disadvantages - Am I going to get ripped off? Warnings about frauds, scams, wiring money, etc. can get you a little nervous. For some users this risk is not worth taking.
WRAP UP - Use Vacation Rental Websites to do your homework. Find a location that is best for you, then scour the internet for the best deal… which may be from a mom and pop owner on craigslist with a low mortgage and reasonable rates.

For those really excited about the home rental business something big is about to happen. Three of the leading associations in the vacation home industry have agreed to co-sponsor an expo that will be taking place at the Cobb Gallerica Centre in Atlanta, GA from April 11-13, 2008. The Vacation Home Expo will attract over 8,000 attendees who will have the opportunity to meet with more than 250 vacation property companies. These exhibitors will give first-hand destination information, and provide “show-only” discounts and travel package specials. The Expo will be open to trade only on Friday afternoon and to consumers on Saturday and Sunday.

It is the first time that The Vacation Rental Managers Association, The National Association of Condo Hotel Owners and The Cooperative Association of Resort Exchangers sponsor an event together.

If you are looking for a great, clean, affordable condo in Daytona Beach this Spring Break, then consider renting a fully furnished condo in a perfect location.
The building is located directly across from beach access for safe and easy crossing (only 2 lanes of traffic and enforced pedestrian right of way). Daytona Beach Shores is the quiet end of Daytona, 5 miles away from Main St.
This condo is family owned and is on the 7th (top) floor of a family friendly building. Secure building access, covered parking spot, pool, shuffleboard, cable, high speed internet, full kitchen (w/ dishwasher), 7th floor has it’s own washer/dryer. Relaxing views of the ocean and river!
