Home Exchange and Vacation Rental Advice

Invest your Government $600 in Travel/Toursim

February 7, 2008 · Leave a Comment

So… what are you going to do with your $600-$1200?

While a good number of morning callers (on Real Rock 101.1 and XL 106.7) said they would spend the money on gadgets such as HD TVs, iPods, video games etc., I was STUNNED by the number of people saying they would save or pay off debt.

If anything, the nation needs to invest in travel and tourism!  This is the ultimate trick-down effect for the economy as it not only stimulates hotels, casinos, and airlines; but also retail, restaurants, oil, automotive, insurance, etc.  For states with tourism taxes (like FL), the influx of revenue would benefit local government infrastructures to help employ workers and upgrade communities.

So take a vacation.  I recommend Florida, but I’m biassed.

South Daytona Spring Break

February 5, 2008 · Leave a Comment

South Daytona is a great place to relax during the day, and party at night.

Benefits:

Driving on the beach is permitted in South Daytona just past the Sunglow Pier, where plenty of beach beauties tend to gravitate.

Less morons!  Spring Break, let’s face it, can attract the most loud and obnoxious idiots.  South Daytona consists of many mid-high priced condos that pepper in a little class and affluency.  I

Value.  Many of the mid priced condos are available for rent during Spring Break and Race Week.  Since these units are typically 2-3 bedrooms, you can split the cost with friends and enjoy a relaxing vacation at a reasonable price!

Charter Fishing.  Only minutes away from 2 harbors for private and party-boat style charter fishing.  Whole or Half day.  These captains know the waters and can show you a good time.

Night Life.  Down the Hatch, Inlet Harbor, SunCruz gambling ships, Crabby Joes, Pirates Cove hotel lounge, Ocean Deck Reggae Lounge, Yaya’s, etc. etc.  All away from the crazy downtown area but tons of fun!

Make your Spring Break Count.  Make your PTO count!   Visit www.timeawayexchange.com or reply to this blog and let me know WHAT YOU WANT TO DO this Spring Break.

Daytona Beach Spring Break

January 27, 2008 · Leave a Comment

I can write countless posts about Daytona Beach and Spring Break, but I’d rather just show you.

Although the Dessert Inn is a great place to party and watch the contests,  I wouldn’t recommend staying there!!!  Dirty rooms, constant noise, and shady management!  Good luck trying to get your deposit back….

Booking your vacation rental.

January 25, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Hi Everyone.  Today we will place a question for you to test your knowledge of renting vacation homes.

When traveling, should you rent your vacation property directly from an owner… or should you go through a rental agency?

Pick the answer that is most likely correct.

A. Go through an agency.  Vacation property owners tend to be very disorganized and the booking process may take forever.

B. Go directly to the vacation rental home owner.  The vacation rental home owner wants his/her guests to have a great and memorable vacation so you will come back and also refer future business. They invest their time and will make your accomodation hassle-free.

 C. Go directly to the vacation rental home owner.  Home owners are often local and available 24/7 .  If a problem should arrise, then can assist immediately whereas travel/rental agents can be remote and lack personal interest in your experience.

D. Go through an agency.  Rental agencies have the experience and efficiencies to get you the best value for your money.   After all, this is their job.

What do you think is the Correct answer?

Post your opinion or check out our work-in-progress site, www.timeawayexchange.com.  Feel free to send us an email and check back tomorrow for an right answer!
